Mosaic Dance » About Us

Mosaic Dance…where every individual is valued as an important part of a big picture.

Mosaic Dance is a community dance organisation, leading creative dance since 1999. The focus of our classes is on developing participants’ self esteem, creativity, dance technique and most importantly unlock their enjoyment of dance and movement, which will hopefully then stay with them for a lifetime.

I formed Mosaic Dance in 1999 in the former mining village of Resolven, South Wales in 1999. Many children grew up attending my classes and some went on to pursue further and higher dance education and dance careers with huge success. In 2012 I relocated with my family to Coton, a village outside Cambridge and to my delight found Coton to be a community eager to embrace creative dance and complete with a newly refurbished village hall it has become a perfect home for Mosaic Dance!

Currently classes are running for children in school years Reception – Year 12 (see timetable). Classes do not follow a syllabus at Mosaic Dance, with the focus instead being on creativity and increasing confidence and as these develop, dance technique will naturally follow. Classes have a high level of input from the dancers themselves and this is shown in the wide range of choreography and dance styles covered at Mosaic Dance, from street dance to contemporary, from Indian Bollywood to African Gumboot dance.

I also design and deliver creative movement and dance programmes for care homes in the local area. I am trained in dance for people living with Parkinsons and for people with dementia. These sessions are a favourite part of my week and I love witnessing the benefits that dance can bring to everyone of all ages.
